AFTER THE RACING
All sailors, friends, families and spectators are welcome at Wallasey Yacht Club after each day’s racing for refreshments, food and the prize giving.
If you have been inspired to try sailing or would like to join the club, please visit us at the club and find out more. Please note that there is limited parking around the club.
After the regatta, there will be collecting buckets for the RNLI at the club. Please give any spare change to support our local New Brighton lifeboat. Thank you.
SAIL THE RIVER OF DREAMS!
Don’t miss one of the highlights of the regional sailing season when Merseyside’s best sailors come together to race in the Wallasey Yacht Club regatta on the challenging waters of the River Mersey off New Brighton aka the ‘River of Dreams’ !
More than ten boat classes from local sailing clubs are expected over the two days including our very own historic Wallasey Seabird Half Raters. You’ll be able to see the Hoylake Operas, West Kirby Stars, Hilbres and Falcons, RMYC Etchells and Mylnes, Dee Catamarans and dinghy classes such as the Laser/ILCA and Wayfarer as well as the glamour of the Liverpool offshore racing yachts!
We look forward to seeing everyone for a great weekend of sailing and fun!
WHERE TO WATCH THE RACING
If you’d like to watch some of the races, the best places to see the action are either the start/finish line opposite the Victoria Road slipway in New Brighton or the corner of the beach past Fort Perch Rock.

On Sunday morning, the action starts one hour later. Boats will start preparing on New Brighton beach by the Victoria Rd slipway from about 11.00am. Races will start from 1:00pm and finish by about 3.00pm.
Then it’s back to the clubhouse in Hope St for a drink, BBQ and prize giving!
